Drug and Alcohol Treatment Philosophy

DISEASE CONCEPT OF ALCOHOLISM & DRUG ADDICTION – We view alcoholism and drug addiction as a disease, a progressive illness that affects the sufferer mentally, physically and spiritually. The addict suffers from an allergy of the body that produces a physical compulsion once the drug is ingested coupled with a mental obsession that ensures that once stopped, the addict can not, on their own resources, stay stopped. The addict is powerless.

GOOD NEWS! – The good news is that there is a solution to “this seemingly hopeless condition of mind and body”. That solution is found in the program of action first outlined in the book “Alcoholics Anonymous”.

RECOVERY DYNAMICS© – The Recovery Dynamics treatment model was developed by Joe McQuany (Joe McQ.) who was the “Joe” in the “Joe and Charlie Big Book Workshop”. For over 40 years Joe devoted himself to helping others to discover the joys of recovery through the program found in the original Twelve Steps.

The Recovery Dynamics program explains the problem and the solution and then provides a program of action, broken down into small, easily digestible pieces that will guide you through Steps 1 – 9 and then teach you how to integrate into the recovery community and build the support network needed to stay clean and sober and experience the joys of long term recovery.

We use the Recovery Dynamics program and all our counselors are trained and certified in Recovery Dynamics. Ron Cipriano is a certified Recovery Dynamics trainer and has trained many counselors in the Jacksonville area to use the Recovery Dynamics program.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT – the initial assessment will help us to determine the proper level of treatment appropriate to your unique situation and then refer you to the treatment facility that will best meet your needs. You may need a medical detox, residential (inpatient) treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment and/or individual counseling. We will guide you to the best solution for you even if it may be a level of treatment that we do not provide. Our overriding concern is what is best for YOU!
